Cost/Share Programs

Dust Control Program - The Crawford County Board of Supervisors has authorized the Secondary Road Department to have magnesium chloride or cut back asphalt applied, at the landowners or tenants expense to help alleviate dust problems on Secondary Roads. This will be done on a cost sharing basis with the person making the request paying for a portion of the cost. Application will be made by a private contractor and Crawford County assumes no responsibility for this service. This program is scheduled to be applied twice a year, typically in May and August.

Tree and Brush Removal Program - The Crawford County Board of Supervisors has adopted a policy that addresses clearing of trees and brush along the County R.O.W. This policy works with the landowner and a private contractor. When all required stipulations are met, including proof of Liability Insurance and an approved permit signed by the County Engineer, then work may be performed on a cost/share basis. Payment to the Contractor for clearing and grubbing within the right-of-way shall be made at the rate of $3.00 per clearing and grubbing unit on areas adjacent to gravel roads, and $1.00 per clearing and grubbing unit on areas adjacent to dirt roads. Haul Road Agreement Program -
