Permits

Access Permit

Any new driveway or widening of an existing driveway that is located in the county's right-of-way must have a permit. This will require approval from Crawford County personnel before any work begins.

Annual Oversize Permit

Permission to transport oversize load on county roads for one year from the date issued.  This will require approval from the Crawford County Engineer before any transportation is permitted.

Annual Oversize/Overweight Permit

Permission to transport oversize/overweight load on county roads for one year from the date issued. This will require approval from the Crawford County Engineer before any transportation is permitted.

Manure Pumping Permit

Permission to temporarily occupy certain portions of the public right of way for the accommodation of a line for the transmission of organic crop nutrients. This will require approval from the Crawford County Board of Supervisors and the Crawford County Engineer before any work begins.

R.O.W. Use for Signs Permit

Permission to occupy certain portions of the public right of way for the accommodation of a sign or signs. Will require approval from the Crawford County Board of Supervisors and the Crawford County Engineer before any work begins.

Round Trip Permit

Receive permission to transport an oversize load on county roads to your destination and then return. This will require the approval by the Crawford County Engineer before any transportation is permitted.

Single Trip Permit

Receive permission to transport an oversize load on county roads to your destination. This will require approval by the Crawford County Engineer before any transportation is permitted.

Tile Crossing Permit

Any tile crossing or work done in the county's right of way will require a signature from the upstream landowner and the downstream landowner, and also approval from the Crawford County Engineer before any work begins.

Utility Permit

All utilities placed within the county's right-of-way will require approval from the Crawford County Board of Supervisors and the Crawford County Engineer before any work begins.

Programs

Tree and Brush Removal Program

The Crawford County Board of Supervisors has adopted a policy that addresses clearing of trees and brush along the County R.O.W. This policy works with the landowner and a private contractor. When all required stipulations are met, including proof of Liability Insurance and an approved permit signed by the County Engineer, then work may be performed on a cost/share basis. Payment to the Contractor for clearing and grubbing within the right-of-way shall be made at the rate of $3.00 per clearing and grubbing unit on areas adjacent to gravel roads, and $1.00 per clearing and grubbing unit on areas adjacent to dirt roads.
